It may not surprise you if are reading this blog that cookbooks are great. My collection, while hardly extensive, offers plenty to choose from for every mood and ingredient. Sometimes too much choice. I’ve decided that once I get to 50 cookbooks, I’m going to have a one-in-one-out policy. So every time I just have to have the latest book from a London restaurant, I’ll jettison an unloved  or out of favour book from my collection. This way, I hope to have what I consider to be 50 indispensable books.

There will be a series of posts on the blog concentrating on some of the most flicked-through and splattered books, with some recipes along the way. Let us know what your favourite and most vital books are in the kitchen.
